Start with a performance requirement

A useful learning brief names the decision, behaviour, or task that needs to improve. This provides a better design anchor than a broad topic alone.

It also makes it easier to involve managers, select realistic practice, and judge whether learning is being applied.

Design beyond the classroom

Capability grows through explanation, practice, feedback, application, and reinforcement. A workshop may be one moment in that journey, but rarely the whole answer.

Managers need simple ways to observe and support the new behaviour. Participants need opportunities to use it while the learning is still fresh.

Measure the pathway

Attendance and satisfaction are useful operational signals. They should sit alongside evidence of confidence, application, manager observation, and relevant performance indicators.
